Catherine Programme

The Catherine Programme was established in 2007 by the European Training Leaders of The Salvation Army and provides grounding in The Salvation Army identity and mission for officers (in training), Salvationists and employees in leading positions. It is run by the Catherine Programme Committee.

Yearly the CPC organises the Catherine Programme Summer School to fulfil the Catherine Programme mission statement by teaching Salvation Army subjects as history, theology and practical ministry, within an European Salvation Army setting.

The Catherine Programme is named after ‘the Army mother’ Catherine Booth who emphasised the importance of studying.

Participants are selected by the leadership and / or the training leaders of each territory, command or region within Europe.

Possible participants are

  • candidates and cadets;
  • people in short-term full time ministry, such as Envoys and Auxiliary Captains;
  • employees who are in a leadership role or key position within The Salvation Army or preparing to take up such a responsibility;
  • officers who wish to refresh their knowledge of the subjects offered.

Participants come from all territories and commands in TSA Europe Zone. Some guests from other Zones can be welcomed as well.
